HolyConvocation. From the all-night prayer
session, led byEvangelist FrancesKelley
and thePrayerTeam, to theFinal Prayer
by the PresidingBishop at the close of the
GeneralAssembly, there aremore than 15
services, 200 classes andmany departmental
experiences for thosewho attend the annual
HolyConvocation.
Since 2010, TheAmerica’sCenter inSt.
Louis has become the temporary hub forThe
ChurchOfGod InChrist, Inc.An estimated
50,000 people attended the 110thAnnual
HolyConvocation throughout themore than
weeklong event.
The 2017 themewas “InThisChanging
World, LetUsHoldOn to ourUnchang-
ingFaith.”One look at theConvocation
schedule and one quickly realizes that the
ChurchOfGod InChrist is quite the active
denomination.When preparing to attend
Convocation, thosewho do not understand
the complexity of the conventionwill often
say, “Enjoy your vacation.”Most attendees
will tell you thatHolyConvocation is not
a typical vacation in any sense of theword.
On the contrary, it is a time of rejuvenation,
renewal and recharging for another year of
service toGod by representingHim in the
world.With sixmajor departments andmany
other auxiliaries, theweekwas burstingwith
exciting events, withmore than 300 classes
andmeetings held throughout.Wow...
