InMarch 2017, I had the oppor-
tunity to share a platformwith
BishopCharlesE. Blake, Sr.
andMr. Earvin “Magic” John-
son atWestAngelesChurch.
The event was called “Super
Saturday” and it consisted of
mentoring,modeling, andmo-
tivating themen of the church,
both young and old.
Onmyflight toLosAngeles
fromNewYork, I thought to
myself, “This opportunity has
less to dowith the event itself,
andmore to dowithGod carry-
ingoutHis plans.” I felt ex-
tremely favored beyond belief.
They could have easily had a
local speakerwho could have
successfully completed the
requirement.At thatmoment,
Philippians 1:6 had nevermeant
somuch tome: “Being confident
of this very thing, that hewho had
begun agoodwork inyouwill per-
fect it until thedayof JesusChrist.”
Godhas not forgottenwhatHehas
started inyou.His timing ismaster-
ful andhisworks areprolific!Let
theWord take its course.
Inmy opinion, potentialwithout
action is justwasted ability.With
Mr. Johnson being at the helm of
theLakers as their president, he
has a natural eye for insight and
skill set. Iwas so confident that he
would identify theGod inme that
I literally started looking up apart-
ments inLosAngeles as if itwere
already done, as if a positionwas
already created forme.Why?My
Bible says to speak things that are
not as though theywere.MyBible
sayswithout faith it is impossible
to pleaseGod.MyBible says
God’s promises are yes and amen.
MyBible says, ask, seek,
knock andHewill answerme!
After a very successful event,
Iwas overwhelmed bywhat
God did. Liveswere changed
andHis presencewas felt.
I took the picture that I had
the pleasure of takingwith
BishopBlake andMr. Johnson
and placed it asmy phone’s
screensaver. I believed that
the seed plantedwas going to
manifest. I saw that picture
every day! Sometimes, Iwould
even switchmy screensaver to
theLosAngelesLaker logo.
I had to keep it in the front of
my brain!With seven being
the number of completion, it
was exactly sevenmonths later
that Iwas asked todo a phone
interviewwith theLosAngeles
Lakers for the position of chap-
lain. I humbly declined and said,
“I am unavailable to do a phone
interview; however, Iwill see you
in-person tomorrow inLAbecause
I am booking the last flight out
today.”
Sometimes you have to prove to
God that youwant it just as bad as
Hewants it for you.As soon as I
got there, Iwas greeted at thedoor
by themanager of Player Services
There is limitless power in sayingwhat you see,
until you seewhat you said.
